This was found in my laundry room. You would think that with all of the technology this world has, we'd be able to figure out the missing sock problem. It's a universal thing - we've all experienced the loss of a matching sock in our lives. More money and research will give these orphans a voice. Do what you can to help.
Stay tuned! I will help my neighbor find that my missing sock. if it's the last thing I do. I have suggested to the owner that a reward be posted for its return. I'll keep you posted.

Ever wonder what would happen if the airline "misplaced" your luggage? Well, they send it to Alabama! The Unclaimed Baggage Center is the mother of all lost-and-founds and just happens to have one of the coolest web sites. Play a game of "What is it?" or "Peek in the Bag" in the Interesting Stuff section or head on over to the online store to shop for some great deals on abandoned goods (courtesy of eBay.) And don't forget to take the virtual tour... or better yet, get yourself a plane ticket to Scottsboro and tour the facility in person! (they have a museum and a coffee shop!!!)

After being shunned to the 'small dogs' section of the leash-less dog park (the first one in Los Angeles, by the way), Edgar, the stud that he is, was violated way too many times by other male doggies. One woman, whose dog was being affectionate, did point out, ''well, we do live in West Hollywood.''
That makes a lot of sense.
We quickly moved out of the whore house they call 'small dogs only' and made our way to the more polite bigger dogs field.

Now, I'm not saying that what he's trying to do is a bad thing and I have respect for very faithful people, but come on Kirk...I think you went a little over the edge with this one. If you feel strongly about something, I agree, you should spend your time and energy pursuing that something. But Kirk, you have stepped beyond the acceptable here. Especially with your introduction that asks me to click the big "YES" or "NO" button in response to "Are you a Christian?" Don't you dare click "NO" - you're in for a big guilt trip, buddy.... Kirk Cameron style!

I decided to test my luck with the "NO" side of the coin, despite my current religous status. I'm a curious fella who likes to stick his nose into forbidden territory. I mean, I always wanted to know what it was like in the girls bathrooms in school. (FYI, everything is so turned around it's scary) It turns out that if you are not a Christian (shame on you), you are punished with a lengthy test. Kirk goes through The Ten Commandments, each of which you have to answer "Guilty" or "Innocent." Be honest, God doesn't like liars. For the sake of curiousness, I chose Guilty on several. Well - this is what Kirk told me:

Does the fact that you have sinned against God scare you? It should.
You have actually angered Him by your sin.
The Bible says His wrath abides on you, that you are an "enemy of God in your mind through wicked works."
If you've decided to reject the gift of forgiveness and you die in your sins, there is no hope for you. There is no purgatory. The wrath of God abides on you and you will spend eternity in Hell. Please take the time to read what the Bible says Hell is like.

And according to Kirk, hell is one crappy-ass place. I better go back to the beginning and click "YES" to save myself and get going with the real meat of the site: blatant product selling. "Buy my DVDs please so I can help spread the word of God to more people," Kirk says in so many words. Sorry, pal.

The first show features the magnificent Will Arnett from Arrested Development. In the second, they sit down with William August - BU alum and star of the hit show, My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss.

Having some free time at the homestead has allowed me to take a little journey into the world of television. I like to watch TV and have my favorite shows, but lately, I've traveled a little bit off of Mike's beaten path. Most notably the scary back roads of The WB and Reality Television. Get out your GPS!

First of all, I hate reality TV and all that it stands for... I also hate the WB and all that it stands for. However, I decided to broaden my horizons a bit and TiVo a couple of the popular shows that the kids are watching these days. Let's start with the WB:

1. Jack & Bobby: (3/5)
Actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The first episode I saw ("Election Night") revolved around the events of the election and was very politically charged and timely. It aired shortly (couple of days) after the real election and they were able to actually refer to the real and horrid results. Thought that was really 'neat'. However, a little too much "I like her, but she doesn't like me... what should I do?" high school crap for me to become an avid fan of the show - a WB trademark, I'm afraid. I've always liked Christine Lahti, who plays the mother of Jack & Bobby, and she did a good job. I miss Chicago Hope...
Update: I have since watched another episode and decided that I don't really like it any more.

2. Everwood: (2/5)
I give this show some props for being a hit, but too much high school drama for me. Instead of "I like her, but she doesn't like me... what should I do?", it's more like, "I like her so much that I want to have sex with her, but she doesn't like me in that sort of way and she doesn't have the same sexual experience that I have, i.e. she's a virgin and I'm not but I should still get an STD test, but uh oh everyone found out about the test including the virgin girlfriend and my dad and her dad... what should I do?" So, yeah... a little too much. Also, what the hell are these kids doing in high school? My God, what happened to holding hands?? That must be a kindergarten thang now. And, is it just me or does the main dude on the show, Efram or something, look a little odd? I think it may be the nose. He does have a huge honker. But, hey... if that gets you the virgin ladies, go for it.
(the show gets a 2/5 because the virgin is kinda hot... may Tivo again just for that. I'll let ya know how that goes)

And now for some of the new reality TV shows:

1. My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss: (5/5)
Absolutely brilliant. There's no other way to describe how awesomely devious this show is. I was a big fan of the Obnoxious Fiancé show, as mean and humiliating as it was, but this one perfectly demonstrates exactly how rediculous all these other reality tv shows are, most specifically, The Apprentice. I also like The Apprentice (Season 1 was better), but Obnoxious Boss does such a great job at making fun of the Donald. The Boss makes fun of all of these money-grubbing, mogul wannabes right in their face! "The others will meet me in my office, where one of you broads is going to be sent home." Broads! Haha.. that's great. He even has a great "You're Fired!" catchphrase: I believe in the last episode, his parting words went something like, "You're very distant and not a team player. But, on the other hand, get the hell out of my office!" HAHA Brilliant, I say. I'll be tuning in every week. (It helps that Sunday is the best night on television thanks to FOX and Arrested Development)
Update: Just found out that the guy who plays "The Boss" is a Boston University alum. LAW '85 --- that's what makes it a great show.

2. Wife Swap (1.5/5)
Not really my cup of tea, but I decided to give it a shot. I'm sure you understand the concept. This is not FOX's ripoff version, Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy. (although, with their track record, their version is probably a little more viscous.... thus earning it another point). I don't plan to watch or Tivo this again. Waste of space. (1 point for half an ounce of excitement, half a point because I guess it kinda had a message somewhere buried inside of it.)

3. Rebel Billionaire (2.5/5)
I got really excited about this show from the ads when Sir Branson exclaimed that the grand prize would be the Presidency of his Virgin enterprise. Then later in an interview, he said that "well, I mean, only for like a couple of weeks under my supervision." SO, he's already a big fat liar. And I don't like people that lie. HOWEVER, I did watch one episode and it was pretty freakin' nuts. He made the contestants walk between two hot air balloons. The pussies (those who mistakenly touched the 'safety wire') were required to climb up a ladder on the balloon to the very top to have proper English tea with Sir Branson himself. Pretty cool. I wouldn't last 2 seconds on that show. It's not that I don't have huge cojones (that's balls in english), I'm just not that stupid.

So, I guess my journey into unknown TV has taught me an important lesson: there sure is a lot of crap out there but it just doesn't matter - people will still tune in.
Quantity not quality, I suppose.
